According to the puzzle packaging, each Anatolian piece is distinct. However, as I continue working on the puzzle, I am noticing that some pieces can fit in multiple locations due to their identical shapes and sizes. The border remains incomplete because of pieces sharing the same characteristics. One method I use to identify mismatched pieces is by comparing their darkness to the surrounding pieces. I have observed that two pieces in the photos have identical shapes.
Also, this is the first time I ever had extra puzzle pieces. When I finally finished the puzzle, I had 41 pieces left over.
I like a challenge but I wasn't expecting this.
